The project will be carried in Zespol Szkol Ogolnoksztalcacych Specjalnych No 7 in Gliwice. Our school specialises in educating children with special needs. The aim of the project is to enhance the quality of working standards in our school. We wish to get to know the innovative method within integration pedagogy called psychomotorics to work with children who are mentally and/or physically disabled. Furthermore, the project is to enable our staff to master their language skills. The Academy of Psychometrics and Metapedagogics in Rednitzhembach in Bayern in Germany will provide courses for our teachers. We plan to have a series of six six-day sessions held every two and half months in our partner’s organisation. 32 teachers will take part in the project. All of the participants work with children with mental disorders as well as who are disabled in many ways. Through acquisition of new skills we would like our organisation to become one which offers new methods of therapy and teaching. What is more, we would like to be regarded as an institution which employs well qualified staff, especially in the field of psychomotorics, and which members share their knowledge as well as experience with others. In the longer run, we would like to organise courses for interested teachers and therapists. We also hope to share our knowledge with parents through holding regular meeting and support sessions for them. We plan to hold an international methodology conference and publish selected papers afterwards.
