Contacts between Pure (LV) and Babtai (LT)have been developed for a long time in thearea of horticultural science. Both placesare located in the countryside and haverich culture traditions, but the opportunitiesof local inhabitants to take part in cultureevents are limited. The project promotes culture development inthe countryside through cross-border cultureexchange and promotes involvement of thecountryside inhabitants in the active crossbordercommunication, activates social life,improves knowledge about traditions andculture heritage of neighbouring countryand strengthens the self-assurance of thecountryside amateur artists.The main activities of NICE project are twoAmateur Artist Festivals in Pure and in Babtaito present national identity through cultureexchange. In these festivals amateur artistsfrom both municipalities will take active partin different fellowship concerts, workshops,street performances and concerts.
