The project „Our school – part of Europe” anticipates two-week participation of our teachers in language and methodological courses in Ireland and England which are going to be led in July an June, 2016.The goals of the project are:1. To improve language abilities of our teachers in English as a second language,2. To improve the quality of management of or school,3. To improve the curriculum especially for English classes in order to adjust them to students’ abilities,4. To strengthen international significance of the school,5. To improve multicultural abilities and promote tolerance, respect and variety of society, cultures and religion.10 out of 41 teachers employed in our school will participate in the project: 2 teachers of English, 1 teacher of young learners aged 7-9, 1 math teacher, 1 both ICT and math teacher, 1 teacher of Polish, 1 teacher of both Polish and social studies, 1 deputy head and also PE teacher, 1 teacher of PE and civil studies, 1 headmaster and the teacher of young learners aged 7-9.It is supposed that 8 people will participate in courses of English and 2 teachers of English will take up methodology courses concerning new trends in theory and practice of teaching English as a second language.The final list of participants was made by the enrollment team including the deputy head…….and two teachers of English. The team for project issues, consisting of the leader and key members, was set up.Before the project is started, the participants will be preparing thorugh extensive internal courses of English and multicultural workshops. All of them will study their teaching methods and will make a list of problems which are difficult to solve. As soon as the grant had been given to school, farther preparations will be made; journey will be organized, accommodation will be found and the tickets will be booked. Experience and information concerning the project will be exchanged with other local primary and secondary schools which have already cooperated with European schools. Cooperation with Cork and London schools will be started so that the future contact will be possible. The teachers would like to learn more about the Irish and British educational system and compare it with the polish one.Within the project, participants will be continuously reporting on progress and results of courses, meetings and workshops. At the end of mobility part our teachers will share their knowledge and gained experience with our school teaching staff and colleagues from nearby schools by means of open lessons, setting self-learning teams and individual consulting. The project will be managed according to the schedule and procedures devoted to each part of it. Our project is aimed at:1) Raising Teaching staff competence by increasing the number of teachers who can use English at communicative level, which in its turn enables them to use sources in English language, new technical devices and take part in international projects.2) Raising Managing staff competence by observing education management systems in other countries and improving language acquaintance to enable international cooperation.3) Enriching knowledge in terms of modern methodology techniques which in its turn help to modify English language methods and programs in order to satisfy students’ needs, create authorial teaching programs and English Language teaching methodology guide.4) Signing up in e-Twinning platform and taking part in educational projects in cooperation with two foreign schools.5) Gaining knowledge about European countries cultures among teachers and sharing it with students in order to promote respect for the diversity of languages and cultures.In the long term, this project will enable the improvement of teaching quality which can provide better exam results and successful participation in English language contests and Olympics. Our school will modernize teaching offer, lead in authorial teaching programs and integrated education techniques. International cooperation and contacts with students from foreign countries will encourage teenagers to speak English eagerly, to be more open to foreign languages and to be more tolerant towards different cultures and people.
