Национална среща "Младежки работник"
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Jul 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

European and national reports indicate that the inclusion of young people in youth activities and who are subjects of youth work remains low – little below 1% in Bulgaria, as compared to that in Europe – 9%. The main goal of the seventh National Meeting “Youth worker” is to involve more than 150 young people from all over Bulgaria, who actively participate in youth NGOs for the purpose of developing their knowledge and having them to comment on the topics of youth work and the youth worker role in the process of making youth policies on national, regional and local level. As well as to discuss and acknowledge what the skills and competences of the youth worker should be, his significance related to the implementation of activities and policies in the field of youth. The making of a policy paper for recognition of the essential role of the youth worker in the contemporary society development is one of the most important goals. The participants are youth workers and active young people, representatives of youth NGOs aged from 18 to 30 years old and policy makers from all over the country, as well as decision-makers. They undergo through different methods mainly developed to encourage them to comment and give opinion on the topic. The theme is being assessed and presented by the implementation of methods of the non-formal education, volunteering, trainings and coaching. A popular tool for the establishment of this dialogue is the so-called Youth Studio, where each participant can make a comment, reflect or ask decision-makers and youth workers on topics in concern. The National youth event is being held on the last day of the National meeting. Creating the right conditions for young people from all over the country to meet and discuss is the foundation to develop youth NGO networks. The National meeting provides the proper conditions and environment to encourage knowledge and exchange of experience and new competences. One of the truly important impacts of this project is that participants, who learn together, learn to live together (The Declaration of Salamanca, 1994); The long-term benefit will be that a document on the process of acknowledging the youth work of the youth worker in Bulgaria as an active part in making cross-sector youth policies will be drawn up. Including the issues related to the development of different strategies and plans for tackling social problems, that is of an essential importance in conducting realistic and argumentative youth policies.
