ENQA’s objectives are to achieve, through the planned activities, a) a stronger European dimension in QA of HE shared by the main stakeholders, including code of good practice for international reviews; b) practice oriented reports, with policy recommendations, on QA of e-learning and on QA and recognition including sharing of good practice in this area; c) a fast and efficient implementation of the revised ESG through training for reviewers, agencies and joint activities with the other stakeholders, and use of the European approach to QA of joint programmes; d) sustainable models of QA of CBHE (QACHE project); e) improved external review that help agencies to constantly improve; f) improved transparency of QA reports; and g) enhanced cooperation with other regions. All of these objectives correspond to precise EU policy objectives.Various methods of work are used to reach the objectives. Mainly, these include studies and research in QA, events, and policy dialogue. ENQA’s activities in 2015 can be summarised under the following headings: Events: Members Forum, training sessions, networking event, expert workshops, EQAF. Concrete outputs: 60 trained reviewers, proceedings of the events, a strategy for 2016-2020, and dissemination of project and WG results. Statutory activities: GA, board meetings. Concrete outputs: revision of ENQA statutes, membership decisions, and all development and management related activities. Projects: QACHE, EQuAM, EQTel, IMPALA, QPP, EU SHARE, ASEAN-QA. Concrete outputs include reports, recommendations, pilot reviews, a toolkit, and different events. Policy development: involvement in the E4 group, BFUG, and EQAR; ENQA working groups; revision of the reviews; implementation of the ESG and the European approach for QA of joint programmes; information provision to member agencies on policy agendas. Concrete deliverables: a policy statement to the EHEA ministerial conference; reports of the working groups and ENQA position papers on the main thematic issues; improved review process; newsletter articles and information briefs. The main direct target group is formed of the QA agencies in the EHEA, but in 2015 ENQA has given emphasis to the greater involvement of other main stakeholders (ESU, EUA, EURASHE, Education International, BusinessEurope) across its activities. In addition, policy makers are important target groups of ENQA’s activities as the activities are aimed at supporting the implementation of EU and EHEA policy objectives, and at supporting evidence-based decision making through expert input. ENQA involves a significant number of its members in an active way (in addition to attendance to events). Currently, policy work is carried out by a 10-member Board. ENQA WGs are composed of representatives of over 30 agencies, from over 20 countries. In the current EU funded projects more than 20 members participate as leaders or partners. ENQA has established robust communication channels with the members, through direct mailing, the newsletter and website, as well as the members’ events. The Board receives reports on progress of all activities six times a year. ENQA measures the success of its activities by confronting the annual work plan with the report of activities at the end of each year.
