MYTH and/or/but REALITY
Start date: Aug 1, 2013,

The project “MYTH and/or/but REALITY” is a youth exchange project for nine working days (excluding travel days) to be held in Aghavnadzor, Armenia during 4-14 October of 2013, where the youth from three EU and three Eastern Partnership Countries (Romania, Spain, Portugal, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia) will have the possibility to meet and work in different sites (in an ancient monastery, in mountains/forests, in a national park etc.) and to get acquainted with each other’s cultures through the media of national legends, epics, fairy tales and myths. This sharing and acquaintance will be done using various activities such as telling the fairy tales, sketches, folk songs and dances, etc. This will be accompanied with a reflection on each others stereotypes, models of communication, inter-generation relations, gender issues and other notions from the underwater part of the cultural iceberg, using the mythical reality as flexible media... The exchange project would contribute to the development of common language between the young people coming from different countries, and may give a start to cooperation and maybe also other joint projects in the framework of Youth in Action Programme. This will be a great possibility to bring young people from different European cultural backgrounds and to organize a dialogue through sharing their fairy tales, legends and epics and to create an opportunity to investigate each other’s cultural patterns through this dialogue.
