In 21th century, thing which the most precious and beneficial for the humanity is undoubtedly ‘knowledge’. Knowledge which is getting improved and renewed day by day is the vehicle to the best. It is obtained by willing people; it sustains their development and broadens their horizons. ‘My Knowledge, My Treasure’ is a school staff mobility project carried out within the scope of Erasmus+. Our institution specifies three main goals in this project to keep up with constantly developing knowledge. These goals are; -to improve English Language skills at A1 level of Common European Framework of Reference for Language - to enhance awareness about Europe and the European Union which are the cradle of civilization - to acquire new techniques, ideas and source of materials. The project is going to be carried out 1 school manager and 11 teachers in 3 steps. These steps are preparatory, mobility, and dissemination activities. The preparatory activities which help us to benefit from the project at maximum rate are; - to prepare presentations to introduce the system of education in Turkey - to print a booklet to introduce our country and culture - to research about the country in which the courses are given (e.g. life style, accommodation, food ways) and to organize a meeting to share the outcomes of the research with participants - to teach very basic phrases to the participants to interact in a very simple way during the time on abroad. As a main activity, our school staff is going to take part in courses which ITC International Education Center hosts. These courses help our school staff to improve English language skills at A1 level and to follow the development in the area of education. Furthermore, since the courses are took place in one of the European country, our participants have a chance to obtain first hand information about Europe and the European Union. Our school staff carries out various dissemination activities to transfer what we have learned and experienced. These activities are; - to design a project web site, print posters and prepare an Erasmus + corner at school - to make CDs about the project and distribute them to the educational institutions - to share experiences in the meetings which are held in our country about the European Union projects - to organize a meeting in our school to talk about our project and invite managers in educational institutions and local media to the meeting - to allocate time to interact our students with very basic phrases which we have been taught in the courses in Europe - to prepare a workbook which includes worksheets and information we have got during the courses - to give an English course at public education center using the workbook we have prepared and practical and modern methods and techniques we have got during the courses. Anticipated effects of our project on the participants are; - improvement of English language skills at A1 level - improvement of command of English -acquisition of a range of new ideas, practical classroom skills and material for teaching - improvement of awareness about Europe and the European Union. Besides these, our school staff is going to work cooperatively and collaboratively during the project and this increases the dependence on each other. Being a member of an international project increases our staff’s self confidence and this encourages them to seek new ways for self- actualization. At the end of the project, other educational institutions benefits from our experiences and a number of the projects in our city will increase. With the help of project web site, posters, meetings and courses which is planned to be carried out, our project reach lots of people as a result, awareness about the Europe and the European Union will increase.
