During the implementation of the project ''Manifistations of Cooperation in Music, Art and Design Education in the European Union Schools'' 6 teachers from Rezekne Music Secondary School of Janis Ivanovs (JIRMV) have participated in experience exchange in Spain. The project was carried out from the 30th of October 2015 til 10th of November 2015, when the objectives of the project were implemented, in particular: an opportunity for the teachers of the professional subjects was given to participate in the project, qualitative selection of participants was carried out, preparation was provided to get insight into the Spanish language and culture, in cooperation with the partner organisation, successful experience exchange was organised, an opportunity was provided to observe classes in the music and art schools of Spain, where music, art and design is combined in one curriculum, afterwards the acknowledgement of skills and knowledge gained at the project was provided as well as presentation and dissemination of the accomplishments in the local, national and international levels. The objectives of the project were directed towards the long term aim of the project - to promote the provision of quality culture education In Eastern Latvia, to strengthen cooperation between culture institutions and the labour market, thus facilitiating the development of young students' skills and capacity at international level.The short term aim fits in perfectly here - 6 teachers of the JIRMV were provided with experience exchange in the music, art and design schools of Spain in order to use the vocational subjects teachers' acquired skills, competences and knowledge in the creation of the new Rezekne Music, Art and Design Secondary School with the status of vocational education centre with an aim to provide modern learning environment and quality curriculum. In Spain there is already a stable tradition for the provision of combined music, art and design education. In order to create such competence centre in Rezekne, teachers have to cooperate not only to provide integrated learning process, but also in the implementation of the city's culture strategy activities in the region. Thus the international experience is needed. During the exchange teachers visited schools in Spain, observed the teaching / learning process, cooperation within the curriculum and the joint organization of culture activities of the region. Following this experience, the participants evaluated the gains and decided which aspects need to be implemented in the new competence centre and why. Each participant - teacher - were involved in his/her own music field (keyboard - piano; string instruments - alto, violin; wind instruments - flute, saxophone; percussion - drums; vocal music and conducting - choir singing, conducting; traditional music - folk ), studying how particular music programmes cooperate with art and design subjects, what are the priorities, how to create creative integration of music and art and design. Project result - the experience gained by the teachers in three music, art and design schools of Spain, observing learning process and meeting teachers and students there. The following was accomplished: 1) in cooperation of all 6 teachers a presentation was designed with innovative lessons learnt, best practice examples from the Spanish schools is implemented in the newly established competence centre;2) each project participant created cooperation programme in his/her own music field containing tips, how his/her music programme can cooperate with art and design programmes, indicate particular areas, manifestation, and - if an integrated education programme is developed, as well as how to attract potential students how to prepare them for the labour market. In addition each project participant, with the help of their students and students from the Rezekne Secondary School of Art and Design has done an activity together to reflect cooperation between art, design and music. Following the exchange, the project participants are not only better informed, acquired new skills and competences, but also have a broader understanding about the culture education system in Spain, vocational training and labour market. It has been a contribution to their professional and career development, as well as better knowledge of a foreign language, experience of multicultural environment of the country visited. The participants gained stronger motivation to continue their work and increase their work satisfaction. After the exchange the participants received a certificate provided by the partner, who provided the exchange in the Spanish music schools and organised the practical part (meeting and greeting, accommodation, transport, culture agenda), in addition Europass Mobility document was provided by the project implementing party.
