The project “Musical identities and European perspective: an interdisciplinary approach” addresses current needs in the field of EU studies related with arts and culture.EU related subjects in musicology are insufficiently covered in the existing curricula offered by higher education institutions in Serbia and Europe. There are no EU studies in Serbia especially in the field of arts; currently offered modules cover political, legal and economic aspects of EU integration, while artistic subjects are not present at all.Project objectives:1. to introduce topics of European integration in the curricula of faculties of arts2. to raise the awareness about importance of crossing cultural and musical boundaries in the European context3. to promote understanding of each individual European musical culture as product of the intercultural dialogue and part of the greater European culture4. to identify dynamic issues of musical identities, both from pedagogical and research perspective5. to offer culturally responsive and innovative teaching and research and to disseminate project results to different target groups.Reaching these objectives will be initial step in positioning of the University of Arts as the future regional centre (unique one) of European Studies in musicology.Project activities will include teaching and research. Adequate musicological and interdisciplinary efforts will be used to map at European scale values for the key concepts of the academic knowledge. Principal outcomes and outputs of the project: implementation of the new European integration module in the field of interdisciplinary musicology (MA, PhD), upgraded methodology, deliverables and events, quality assurance, dissemination and sustainability.Impact and indicators of achievementImpact on the international level: international research, international conference, conference proceedings in English.Impact at the national level: creating the interest in EU studies in the field of arts.
