Capacity building project 3M: Multimedia Multipliers from Margins is a year long initiative that aims to empower socially excluded, vulnerable groups, by providing them with tools and knowledge on new technologies and media. The project strives to raise the voice of those who are socially invisible (migrants, Roma, unemployed, minorities), and expand their visibility in media and among general population. Project combines capacity building activities with two mobility activities - one training on the use of participatory video and photo journalism, and another training in form of Social Hackathon event that will result in developing mobile apps and web platforms for social good. Project merges two successfully implemented projects from 2014, and brings together organizations who share the same value and methods of work. 12 organizations - from Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Latvia, France, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Croatia, Italy, Romania, Albania and Bosnia will work together on transferring innovation and good practices in youth work. Partnership combines organizations that: work with marginalized/socially excluded groups, have networks of volunteers and activists who can act as multipliers of new training modules, develops ICT competences, and enables both youth workers and community members to become multimedia journalists reporting from margins. Project develops transversal skills and allows to participants to enter job market with knowledge on video/photography/journalism and basics of app development. With our project we want to overcome stereotypes and stereotypical roles of socially deprived groups. Our goal is to contribute to the prevention of discrimination by encouraging equal representation of all people in public sphere. 3M project will help youth workers to maximize their social impact, to assist with social inclusion and also to reduce the obstacles for a variety of target groups with the help of contemporary media and technology.
