PROJECT
FINISHED
This project is about education in musical culture. New didactic and methodological ways for education in musical culture and new conceptional ways in adult education are sought to help dissolve the separation between serious music and light music and possibly also help create a “canon formation” regarding modern music (light music / pop music) of the post-war period. In this context, theoretical and practical musical ways are equally relevant. In addition, the project is about working out the significance and the perspectives at hand for cooperation with institutions of „assigned cultural education“ (Gieseke). The benefits of such cooperation and finding out about any obstacles. The aim is an exchange of full-time and part-time staff from institutions in Austria, Italy, the Baltic states and Sweden or Denmark. Explorative interviews on the basis of the material provided to partners are to be conducted locally (current programme research by 15 major German adult education centres, including evaluation of the programme archive of DIE [German Development Institute]).The ultimate aim is an innovative expansion of our offer of musical education beyond what has been achieved already (some offers of practical musical education, some cooperation with organisation Theater Bonn, minor concert activities for refugees, etc.), bearing in mind two specific backgrounds:On the one hand, music is a universal cross-generational means of communication which is largely independent of any language competence and thus capable of creating new ways of access within an interculturally rapidly changing world. On the other hand, Bonn is preparing itself for the Beethoven Anniversary in 2020; the local Adult Education Centre is very keen to contribute with innovative formats of musical culture and expertise that has been gained internationally. All results will, of course, also be made available to the networks of the Adult Education Centre (DVV [German Association of Adult Education Centres], DVV Arbeitskreise [Working groups], DVV International, Beethoven-Netzwork vor Ort [Local Beethoven Network], Haus der Kultur [House of Culture], etc.).
