The purpose of the City Net Development project is to set up a European network for the exchange and development of European expertise in the field of vocational training for disadvantaged population groups. In setting up the network, initiatives to facilitate the access of disadvantaged groups to the labour market will be introduced, including: the updating of skills of employees in local authorities and non-profit organisations responsible for the programming and management of vocational training initiatives for disadvantaged groups; an analysis of the training needs of eight different disadvantaged groups; and a methodology to develop the innovative capacities of vocational training systems at local level.The project results will be the network itself, an Internet site and a European database with examples of training projects for disadvantaged groups (specific guides will be produced for each disadvantaged group).The project beneficiaries will be managers and employees in public administrations, training organisations, non-profit organisations and population groups that are disadvantaged on the employment market.
