PROJECT
FINISHED
The students in our training centre prepare a Vocational High School Degree, specializing in Hygiene, Cleaning and Sterilization. Our new strategy for this training includes opening up to Europe. To begin with, we intend to promote occupational mobility by means of a professional traineeship in Barcelona. Fifteen apprentices, in the second year of their training, are concerned. The main purpose is to help them develop new skills and learn about their future job in an unfamiliar professional context. They are also going to learn about life in another European country, which will help them become more mature and responsible. This is a long-term project, managed by a steering committee within the training centre. Since occupational mobility requires a lot of preparation, careful planning is currently under completion in order to ensure the successful development of the project. The candidates are going to discover a new culture and a specific professional practice; their results will be assessed both on a short-term and on a long-term basis. In Spain, the apprentices are going to work in Spanish companies; they already know how to manage a site, some of them have done fire and flood restoration before, but they are also going to discover some new tasks and new approaches. They will take part in specific guided tours to know more about Spanish culture. This mobility project is quite important for our training centre, since it is the first step in our new strategy. Spending some time abroad might become an integral part of our program. In the future, we might also exchange apprentices with training centres in Europe and organize training courses abroad for our teaching staff.
