Our society is constantly facing some kind of crisis - financial, social, environmental, energy, food - just to name the most pressing ones. Nowadays young people throughout Europe are confronting old and new crises making their way into society and adulthood seems harder than ever. All this bring strong sense of insecurities and doubt in their abilities to handle their life in a meaningful way. With 3 Youth Exchanges that took place in different countries (Kosovo, Bulgaria and Croatia), in small mountain communities separated by distance and history, but which have in common a close link to nature and traditional lifestyle, this project gathered 3 times 25 young people from Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, Bulgaria and the Russian Federation. Through visits, workshops, debates, games, the Youth Exchanges tackled both environmental and society crises, aiming to underline how they are connected and which are the global world challenges, but as well to look for possible solutions. This project gave new views and ideas to young people and inspired and gave them tools to take back the control of their life, and become change makers for their community and society. Indeed, Mountains (can) connect young people.
