Our secondary school is situated in Partille, a municipality just outside Gothenburg, Sweden. We offer the following programs for our students: social science, natural science, estetical prepatory for higher education, and vocational studies in the field of electricity, car mechanics and builders. The students come for the most part from parts of the city region's disadvanteged areas, where immigration is high, unenployment rates are high and the students come from low educated families. Our vision is to create a school where motivation and high achievment is the highest in the region even though pupils come from disadvanteged backgrounds.
We are building a new school and we are moving in later this year into new exciting rooms together with other municipal departments such as the Music school, library, the Youth section, adult educational association and furthermore. We also want to move in new educational content in order to optimize every student's chance of succeding.
In this development we need to educate our teachers and get new input from other successful European schools that can teach us and inspire us to get that best regional school that we are aiming for. Our focus will be to jobshadow in schools where they have high results and highly motivated students even though the students might come from less successful backgrounds. We will also look for European partners to create common projects and recipients of common educational content, in this area we will use Etwinning as a tool to create, sustain and develop projects.
Our vision is to give our students a school that closely work together with the rest of thw world, universities, companies , institutions in Sweden and globally. In this project 2015-2016 we will send out 7 teachers to jobshadow in two different schools, two different countries. They will prepare with questions and report in forms of blogs during their stay. Focus will be motivation and high results together with Physical Education and handball/football (Madrid) , Music (London) and EU projects (Split). These teachers have been selected because of their position in planning the sections in the new school. The experiences they will get will help them plan, activate and evaluate projects that directly can be used with students and give better results and motivation during spring 2016, and these experiences will be used in further planning.
