PROJECT
FINISHED
The " Motivate , Inspire and Dream" started from partner organizations need to better motivate volunteers to draw attention on the importance of youth volunteering and thus to increase the impact on the community. We chose Sibiu as an implementation venue of this project due to an analysis issued by a collaborator from which it appeared that the citizens of Sibiu are not very much involved in volunteering . The project is implemented by Devision Association with the support of four partners : L' Isola che non c'è (Italy ) , KLUBS Maja - jaunatne Vienot Eiropa ( Latvia ) , African Centre for Development and Research ( UK) , Stowarzyszenie Inicjatyw Obywatelskich " EZG " (Poland ) . Together we established the four objectives of the project :
1. At the end of the project, the 20 participants will learn practical skills to motivate volunteers and attracting new ones
2. After the 7 days of training, the 20 participants will gain knowledge and skills related to assertive communication with volunteers and will perform 15 non-formal tools to attract new volunteers .
3. During the last two days of the project, the 20 participants will create 20 non-formal tools to motivate volunteers that will be found in the Volunteer Guide booklet which will be realized within the rate of 85 % during the training course .
4 . TDue to the activities , the 20 participants will realize the importance of creating a strategy for attracting and motivating volunteers and thus they will be able to increase with 20% the number of volunteers from the five partner organizations / groups afer 4 moths from the end of the project.
All the 20 participants are active members of partner organizations , youth workers involved in working with volunteers . Eight of these participants fall into the category of persons disadvantaged socially, economically or geographically. Through this project we want to give them more confidence in themselves and in their power to improve the community they belong to . To achieve project objectives, we planned two meetings to prepare participants. They will analyze the degree of motivation of volunteers in their organizations and they will discuss project objectives and preparations will be made for intercultural evening . The participants will be ready to start learning and the learning will be based on a series of non -formal methods such as role play, brain storming , Debating , collages , team-building activities and trust -building and formal methods such as case analysis , teamwork , presentations, etc. This project will use informal and nonformal methods, participants will have the opportunity to discover other cultures through themed evenings and continuous interaction .
Impact of the project will reach a peak during the campaign of communication and raising awareness on the importance of volunteering. This campaign will be implemented in partnership with three NGOs in Sibiu and will include innovative elements and increased visibility in the community. Another impact-ful action of the project is the creation of a brochure , a guide for youth workers which contains 20 innovative ways to motivate volunteers and 15 tools to attract new volunteers . The brochure will be published and distributed to participants online and on paper in all 5 countries participating in their project. In the promotion and dissemination project will be involved the local media and the three organizations with which we work in Sibiu on theawareness campaign In addition , the blog in English will have a high impact, there participants will publish opinions , case studies , examples of good practices. We will promote our blog through Facebook and Linkedin and the brochure will be published on multiple websites . We believe that the impact of our project will be a substantial due to the dissemination tools used ( online brochure and blog ) our examples of best practices , know- how obtained from the participants attended activities may reach a large number of NGOs across Europe and beyond.
