The funding helped the launch and further development of cross-borderenvironmental co-operations, and the preparation of the related CBC projects. Theproject included workshops where the environmental and nature conservationexperts of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County and Satu Mare County discussed thenecessary tasks, determined the possible future CBC projects and mutually visited andviewed the most important environmental institutions and pilot projects of the targetarea. One of the most important achievements of the project was that Satu Mare Countyand Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County identified five project ideas each to promote theprotection of the environment, which means that after further elaboration these ideascan in future be submitted for funding by European regional co-operation programs.
