Although located only 25 km from each other across the border, Daugavpils City and Zarasai District has not used the potential provided by the location for tourism development. Thus the project developsa new model for rural and urban crossborder cooperation by integrating natural countryside resources of Zarasai District and cultural resources available in Daugavpils City in order to create an extra value for tourism sector.The project prepares new cross-border tourism products – historical, sacramental and multi-cultural routes that are promoted during the study tour of journalists, tourism exhibitions and closing event as well as through the published and widely available informational materials about tourism possibilities in cross-border Zarasai-Daugavpils region.
