A common identity in the target area can be outlined by keeping the archaic Heyducks tradition, lifestyle specific to the 17th century, met on both sides of the border. The heritage of Heyducks is less known today among the Euro-region, especially among the youths under 20 years.The general objective of the project is to strengthen the socio-cultural links between individuals and communities in Bihor - Hajdu-Bihar Euroregion by popularizing the Heyducks common traditions and legends, the project being focused actually on creating a festival in the region with participants from both sides of the boarder and of tourists.The main activities of the project are the following: preparation of the location for the Battle of Pheasant Valley, the Heyducks Tour, reconstructing the battle of Pheasants Valley and the Heyducks Conference.The target group of the project comprises of Hungarian and Romanian children and young people from the area. Thinking together, they will perceive the common Euro-regional identity. The socio-cultural link provide solid basis for a harmonized joint development, because common values generate mutual trust for individuals and community, which is essential for a fluent economic cooperation.Project results: number of people participating in joint events: 4630 persons; increase in the level of People-to-people cooperation: 30%.
