“Internship for Students with Special Needs in Germany” is the project with an aim to improve vocational competence and competitive ability of students with hearing disabilities and special educational needs. Integrate these students into labor market of Lithuania and EU and to create new possibilities to develop vocational skills in various companies of Germany are the goals of this project also. Organizers are ready to encourage and motivate disabled students to seek for employment by presenting working experience of disabled Germans. The project is oriented to 1st vocational grade cook and joiner students with special needs. Internship in Germany will last 6 weeks in February and March of 2015. 8 cooks and 4 joiners will participate in this internship as a part of their 15 weeks long vocational practice intended in learning plans. Next part of their vocational practice students will accomplish in various companies of Lithuania. 4 educators will participate in the project as attendant persons. They will rotate: 2 for 3 weeks. During the internship students and their attendant persons will be accommodated in hall of residence of Salo+Partner Berufliche Bildung GmbH vocational center in Schwerin. Salo+Partner Berufliche Bildung GmbH undertake to create all conditions needed to reach the goals of the project. The organization will evaluate skills acquired during this project by using standardized questionare “Beurteilung durch den Praktikumsbetrieb”. Participants will work on probation in Schwerin city restourant “Moven – Kantinen Betriebsgesellschaft“, in hotel “Europa Hotel Schwerin” and “Schelf Bau GmbH&Co.KG” company which are collaborators with welcoming organisation. Students on this internship not only improve their vocational skills and learn to use new technologies in their work. They will also learn to be self-dependent, expand their cultural horizon and improve international sign language skills by communicating with students from other countries. Participants will get Europass mobility documents and certificates of internship participation, given by VTMRC. After the internship in Germany, the evaluation of participants’ practice will be revised by educators and administration members of VTMRC and specialists of Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts. All the information about this project will be placed on websites of Vilnius Technology Training and Rehabilitation Center (www.vtmrc.lt), Salo+Partner Berufliche Bildung GmbH (www.solo-ag.de). VTMRC undertake to create the stand representing internship in Germany. The publication in the monthly newspaper “Akiratis” is also included in project plans. The members of Self - Government of VTMRC (center, teachers, students and supervisors councils) will be informed about this project by participants and attendant persons. Participants will share their experience and photos of the project in “Facebook”.
