PROJECT
FINISHED
The project will cover 100 two week long training placements in Germany between 1 June 2014 and 31 May 2016. The participants will be students of vocational schools and technical secondary schools, being trained in professions related to construction services (e.g. bricklayer, carpenter, electrician, locksmith, fitter). The work market in the Lower Silesian province is based, to a high degree, on construction and services.
The main goal of the project is to increase the mobility of Polish students, to carry out issues covered by the practical training programme at the European level, and especially to get to know new trends and compare them with the technology used in Polish companies, to gain new professional experience in a new work environment, which then may be transferred, to improve skills and prepare for opening own companies on the European market.
Students will gain experience in organising their work stations, co-operation in international teams, they will be able to carry out an economic evaluation of the activity. A very important aspect will also be the improvement of a foreign language, learning about a new culture and Saxon and German traditions as well as establishing friendships, which may bear fruit in long-term contacts.
A result of the project will be a better preparation of future graduates for work in their professions, for self-employment as well as a comparison of foreign education systems.
Young trainees will be stimulated to gain a feeling of belonging to the European Union and a feeling of no barriers between the member states, they will gain self-confidence, establish contacts with peers, become more open to the world and much more self-reliant.
Economic relationships between the German and Polish enterprises have improved over the recent years. Still however, the level of co-operation is low. The most important factors hindering the creation of economic relationships are considered to be the lack of knowledge of foreign languages as well as difficulties in finding and selecting reliable commercial partners and lack of knowledge of the market and legal procedures.
The project answers the needs of increasing the mobility of the youth to the EU countries, supports professional and social activation of young people, promotes learning foreign languages as a very important part in the process of professional training and personal development. It also meets local priorities by supporting small and medium enterprises as a result of support of the abroad SME sector, in which the professional placements for students will take place as well as by supporting Polish companies which due to abroad students placements will gain better educated workers.
Placements of all the students will take place at the highest quality sites, selected by the partner - Görlitzer Fortbildungszentrum für Handwerk und Denkmalpflege e.V., which are experienced in education of students.
