Vocational training in Lithuania (based on best practice of European vocational schools) currently is are being transformed into modular training. 2015 there are 40 modular training programs prepared and currently being tested in Lithuanian vocational schools and centers. After testing modular programs will be corrected and/or improved according to the recommendations of vocational teachers and directors of schools. The applicant and the members of the consortium are involved in testing the modules or are preparing to participate in testing of modular programs next school year. The "round table" discussions with colleagues, showed that both vocational teachers and managers have still some confusions and questions about the implementation process and content of modular training programs.Therefore it is necessary to analyze experience of other European countries, which have good practice in implementation of modular training in order to apply / adapt modular teaching and modular programs in Lithuanian vocational schools and to ensure the quality of vocational training of young specialists.Target group of project are 30 vocational teachers and administrators (specialists and managers) responsible for the testing of the modular programs and effective application in educational process in Klaipeda. The target group was formed on the basis of strategic plans of sending institutions and analysis of employees' needs.Project duration - 12 months.Main objectives:1. To get acquainted with modular training practice in partner institutions abroad (in vocational training centers and schools) particularly focused on curriculum of organization, assessment of students' competencies, credit terms etc.;2. To apply the good practices of foreign partner institutions in testing and working with modular vocational training programs at vocational schools in Lithuania;3. To strengthen professional competencies of vocational teachers (subject content planning and development and the teaching / learning process management skills);4. To strengthen competence of strategic thinking and changes in management of directors ad specialists of vocational schools.During the project, 30 trainers and those responsible for the implementation of modular training at schools will visit European vocational training centers and schools, where they will directly participate in discussions with the responsible representatives of the modular training and its practical implementation. Participants will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the modular organization of training content (they will study and analyze teaching plans of modules, modular programs, methods, evaluation guidelines and monitor the workshops so they can compare differences of modular training in Lithuania and other European countries and to agree on its adaptation possibilities in Lithuanian schools.Results and outcomes of the project:-The project will enable the participants to apply the modular teaching experience first of all in all three sending vocational schools of Klaipeda. Having good examples in Klaipeda vocational schools these will be shared with other Lithuanian vocational schools participating in testing of modular training programs.-Students of Lithuanian Vocational schools will be able to study consistently the modules; moreover, they will understand more clearly the benefits of learning modules for their future career;- Participating organizations will be able to organize a coherent curriculum in modules, vocational teachers and other specialists will know the methodology of competencies' assessment; moreover they will be able to implement effectively modular programs in real life.There are aims set in Strategic plans for the year 2014-2016 of sending schools to improve annually teachers' qualifications, curriculum, to adjust and develop new training programs, to certificate teachers and staff. Participation in this project the will have direct impact on participants' professional development, general, linguistic and management competences will be improved.
