Vilnius Pilaite gymnasium is located at the edge of the capital Vilnius. About 500 students from the local district and surrounding areas attend the school. Students are from different social backgrounds and of different nationalities. Strong competition among city gymnasiums sets high goals for our community to seek for the newest methods developing educational standards and establishing engaging and effective education. We understand that meeting new needs relies not only on the experience of our school and national institutions‘ but also on the experience of the partners of the international level. Thus we intend to improve motivation of the learners, reduce early school leaving in a lifelong learning society, foster aware citizen who already at school acquires qualities of the leadership and management, successfully competing in the future learning and labor market. In the project „ Modern teacher – student‘s safe future“ 6 gymnasium staff members will participate. They all have university degree, not less than five years of service, intrinsic motivation to realize the new objectives of the gymnasium. Project members will learn to create groups and work within them successfully,will apply sustainable training strategies for a secure future, learn new methods of learning environments. The project members will participate in the project training courses and disseminate experience at school, other schools and the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences. There will be a working group whose members will develop and fine-tune arrangements with partners and participants in the project. The working group members will organize pre-training, the transportation, control and coordinate the project participants. It is planned that the participants will take back innovative techniques and examples for working with gifted students, future leaders, will gain experience of European socio-cultural background. The gymnasium teachers will be open to changes and innovations, being able to cooperate internationally, implementing European experience into students development, gymnasium community and a secure future. We hope that this project will ensure the life-long benefits for the school and its partners.
