Floods and damage by floods cause serious problems year by year. Preparation andprotection not only require considerable expertise but major financial expendituresas well. Therefore people living beside living waters often expect floods due atthe time of the changes of seasons full of anxiety. Thus, protection of their houses andproperty is not only their own responsibility but of water management experts as well.The project funding provided irreplaceable assistance in ensuring that the floods of theRiver Fehér-Körös arriving at the area of the Körös Valley District Environment and WaterDirectorate are discharged without causing flood damage, as nearly forty thousandpeople in 5452 homes in the relieved flood plain along the River Fehér-Körös can feelsafer by the reduction of damage by flood, thereby not only their life conditions but thesecurity of their property have also improved.
