Teachers today are confronted by digital media in all aspects of daily life. The facilities of our school and the teaching are unable to fully meet this challenge. To tackle this we have initiated a project, “Modernisation and Digitalisation in Foreign Language Teaching”. As part of this project we are seeking additional funding, which can enable us to provide tablets and e-books and further training for teachers. In addition, we wish to provide the facilities for showing web-based seminars or presentations on the internet. Furthermore, learning from foreign partners can also assist us so that we can see how modern education works in other countries.The digital revolution offers us great opportunities and challenges in further education, particularly when teaching foreign languages. Due to this, two colleagues will take a course in modern communication and media in English, in order to develop their knowledge in languages and media and then share their gained understanding with the students and colleagues of the school. This will help us to increase the value of foreign language teaching, which is of vital importance in today's globalised world. We expect the high motivation of all participants, to face the new demands, and this will ensure that the project is a great success. In the long term, our school can better motivate students, as a result of more engaged colleagues and education that is more relevant for the modern world. This will enable our students to be better prepared for daily and working life. Our aim is that it will push the school to exceed expectations in its standard of education and to flourish in its development within the framework of quality development and evaluation.
