Moblity For Ever/Ecvet/EQF/Europe
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The students that had a mobility activity in M4E are all in competence-oriented education. We are in the process of making the curriculum of the courses outcome based so that they can be more easily converted to international modules in the ECVET system. This way it will be less difficult to make comparisons with foreign partner schools. Three years after the project application for M4E was written internationalisation has obtained a permanent place in course levels 3 and 4. It remains optional for level 2. The optional part “working in the European labour market” is compulsory at Wellant for the relevant level 4 courses. Every student who plans to obtain work experience abroad has to complete this optional part. This is less compulsory for the other consortium partners but is nevertheless used as preparation. The new qualification structure is effective as of now but the curriculum has already been tested within L&B. The combined project application M4E fits the IVT and VETPRO mobility projects mentioned earlier in backgroud and Experience. The objectives that will be pursued are: - The participants are more employable and competent. They become stimulated to employ and expand their professional space because they have learned to use each other’s knowledge and experience and have learned to share. - The participants have come to better understand other cultures, in the broadest sense of the word. - The participants have improved their linguistic skills. - The participants, especially colleagues in this case, have expanded their own international network with new foreign partners and through their own international experiences are better able to stimulate students to participate in international activities. - More intensive use of social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Skype and Twitter) as a means of contact by both students and colleagues The results of the ToI project EQUFAS provide us good guidelines to offer students internships that are on their right level. There will be increasingly sought for accredited internship companies in Europe, this takes place in consultation with our knowledge centre 'AEQUOR'. The results of the ToI project Aquap 2010-1-NL1-LEO05-02663 will help us to expand the number of accredited internship companies in Europe. Herewith we want to prevent that the internship time of the student will not be counted as 'non teaching time' and therefore will not pass inspection. For colleagues a course in “Vocational English” has been set up with the EUROPEA Malta partner school. MCast offers a “tailor-made” course for our subject teachers so that they are acquainted with the jargon and the vocabulary regarding their own occupational field. They are then better equipped to teach their own subject to foreign students. Before starting this course, participating colleagues take a diagnostic test; upon completion, they take a progress test. Wellant will develop this same course for German. All consortium member colleagues are allowed to use this “Vocational English” course. For students the situation is different. We have not yet been able to make use of the OLS in this project. Language progress is observed during regular English lessons after the return of the students, and many senior students give a presentation in English on their traineeship to the younger students. The language used in this presentation is assessed by the English teacher and the presentation itself by the Career and Citizenship teacher. This assessment counts in the general evaluation. This group of students functions as ambassadors for the next trainees abroad. Pilot internships will be founded within ECVET units, designed in collaboration with the receiving partner. They will take a part of the practical training of a course on their account. Furthermore regional learning within the Netherlands will be expanded and will go beyond national borders. The cooperation between the 5 O's (= cooperation with regional Entrepreneurs, local Government agencies, Research, Education and Environment, citizens of the region) will ensure that internships will take place at companies where authentic situations and issues will be resolved. This with support from our students within that European region. Moreover, at the moment, we are exercising strict control to comply with the Practical Training Agreemants (POK) within our consortium. The use of social media (Facebook, Hyves, www.waarbenje.com, Twitter, E-buddy, Whatsapp) has proven to be a good way to monitor our students. In this way contact with classmates and teachers will be intensified within M4E. Contact outside school hours with the school- and local internship supervisor takes mainly place through school mail and via Whatsapp.
