Mobility in EU countries enables students and teachers create a favourable environment for professional fulfillment and career development achieved through work placements in local and international companies. The project "Mobility beyond borders - professional skills gained through experience" corresponds to the core mission of Vocational School of Economics "Dr. Ivan Bogorov"- to prepare competitive, creative young people, equipped with economic knowledge and skills, with a real chance for a future career in the dynamic socio-economic environment. Participants in the project are a total of 36 students from grades 11 and 12 of the specialities: Business Administration, Banking, E-Commerce, Economic Information Security, Accounting, and 6 teachers in general practice. They will be divided into three mobilities. Project partner - ADC College, London, UK The college is a professional development and language tuition organisation . It is accredited by the British Council for quality in programme delivery and English tuition. Through close cooperation with more than 200 companies and institutions from the local business, the college offers students opportunities for combining language practice in an intercultural environment and acquisition of knowledge, skills and experience in real work placements. The project aims at applying acquired professional knowledge, habits and skills by the students in general and sector vocational training in a real multicultural working environment, in order to increase their chances for a successful future career in the European labour market. Specific project objectives: - Providing a real working environment which will increase the level of professional competence and create work motivation - Formation of entrepreneurial and social skills, team work abilities - Creating a professional interest - Increasing the students’ employability in the labour market - Improvement of personal language competence through communication in a foreign language environment - Increasing the knowledge of culture, lifestyle and traditions of United Kingdom - Developing European citizenship awareness and acquiring a sense of belonging - Establishing a basis for a long-term cooperation between business and the school - Improvement of our school image as an institution offering quality vocational education In order to achieve the objectives, the project includes a range of activities divided into three groups: 1 / Preparation - signing contracts with the partner ADC College, work programmes agreement, selecting students and their preparation, travel arrangements. 2 / Main activities – conduct of a two-week training practice at real work placements in London, introduction to living in London, instructions on work placement requirements and the public transport, practical training in the field of specialty through expert mentoring sessions and professional support, progress assessment, as well as monitoring the individual development of each participant, preparation of weekly reports, questionnaires and inquiries. The project includes three mobilities (three streams): - First mobility - April 2016, 14 days - 12 students and two accompanying teachers. - Second mobility - October 2016, 14 days - 12 students and two accompanying teachers. - Third mobility - March 2017, 14 days - 12 students and two accompanying teachers. 3 / Follow-up activities - dissemination of the results on local and national level, organising a conference in partnership with the Regional Inspectorate of Education- Varna , Chamber of Commerce and local business, publishing a guide book on practice, reporting, evaluation and analysis of the project activities and results. Through implementation of the project "Mobility beyond borders - professional skills gained through experience”, we expects to achieve long-term results corresponding to the reforms in vocational education: - Professional skills acquired in a real work environment - Acquired social skills helping to comply to a multicultural environment - Future development of an entrepreneurial spirit in students and enthusiasm for a successful career in the labour market - Increasing the number of motivated students, actively participating in the learning process in language and vocational training - Establishing effective relations between the business and education - Encouraging a sustainable sense of understanding and respect among EU citizens - Adapting vocational education to the companies’ needs - Increased attractiveness and popularity of VET. Working on the project "Mobility beyond borders- professional skills gained throug gained through experience", as well as on other mobility projects under the programme "Erasmus +" will help to improve the competitiveness of our school and make us an attractive institution for students not only from the province, but also from the region.
