PROJECT
FINISHED
The project named: „ Mobile teachers – innovative school – motivated students” is planned for two years (2015-2017) and includes three areas of interest. They are: enrichment of knowledge and skills of the teachers especially in innovative teaching methods; gaining IT competence in the appliance of new teaching and learning technologies called TIK and in the learning and teaching foreign languages. The effects of those activities will raise the quality and attractiveness of education and improve the competence of school workers.
The objectives of the project are compatible with the need to increase the number of teachers able to use a foreign language at a communicative level so that they may be engaged more in the initiation and execution of international projects.
Achieving knowledge, in theory and practice, of modern technology teaching methods based on TIK by teachers of subjects other than computer science/ICT will allow increasing the use of those in the process of teaching and learning. Learning and applying those methods in practice will lead to a better motivation of the students to learn various subjects. It will especially affect children with low ambitions or those who were raised in a troubled environment.
Workshops and trainings are supposed to facilitate making contacts with teachers from other European countries in order to maintain the European character of the school and to promote Gimnazjum nr 1 in the local community as a school which promotes life- long education process.
The participants in the project are the headmistress and 8 teachers of Gimnazjum nr 1 im. “Zjednoczonej Europy”. They teach various subjects such as chemistry, physics, Polish, German, and English and have varied experience as it comes to project activities. Thanks to their visits to places like Malta, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Spain and Ireland, not only will they be able to develop and shape their educational skills but also to compare their teaching methods to those used in other European countries. All acquired knowledge may be then used in their further work career development. Certifying it with a Europass certificate will make their position more visible in the Polish and national teaching forum.
Effective communication and co-operation among all the project members is one of its great keystones to success. That is why; all the partners will contribute their best during all stages of project realization: both at the beginning, in the course of the activities and after their conclusion. Project activities begin with the preparatory stage and will be adjusted to match the needs of individual participants. They will cover a range of aspects including: linguistics, educational, administrative, legal, personal and cultural points as well as financial data. They will be evaluated in the course of all project activities. It will provide the recognition of strong and weak sides of the project and show the necessity of modification and increasing the effectiveness of our work.
Time of the project realization will cover two years, but it is expected to bring long lasting benefits in the areas of increasing the quality of school work and international co-operation between our school and schools and institutions from other European countries. We anticipate that the teachers’ attitudes in many aspects may change under the influence of the project. They will become more fluent and uninhibited in using a foreign language, more self-confident in planning, organizing and running international trips and projects, more appreciative of the modern computer information technology in the process of teaching and learning, more understanding of the need to modify the educational programs so they reflect and include new educational ideas which are adjusted to the needs of the young learners. Teachers involved in the project will develop and improve their interpersonal skills, learn how to cope with stress in new environment and most of all, increase their competence involving education of the young learners.
The school, as an institution, will most of all gain priceless experience in the organization of workshops for the teachers and in the realization of European founded projects. It will enrich the range of extracurricular activities, introduce innovative methods of working with young learners, and promote modifications of teaching programs and adjustments to modern youth needs.
The publicity of our activities and project outcome will increase the local community consciousness about EU programs and will point out the benefits to the rest of the teaching staff. IT will serve as a promotion of new working methods and multilingual skills among the teachers. It will certainly arouse the interest of the local council and media and persuade the authorities to consider the value of worked- out results and their usefulness in increasing the quality of work not only in our school but in all the others in our province.
