Our school should strive to be an inclusive and attractive school for both students and staff. By working with an international perspective , we can develop our endeavor to support all students regardless of gender, socioeconomic conditions , ethnicity or any disability . By participating to the teachers training abroad project and attending to seminars in Europe, our school is mainly aiming in improving the following fields: - students early drop out - students inclusion - teachers development -schools management The goal is to give the opportunity to as many teachers as possible of different subjects to be involved and have the opportunity to assist to seminars offered, job-shadowing etc, for improving the above described problems. 6 participating teachers, possibly including the head master of the school. The teachers are from different subjects, fields, position, all having knowledge of a foreign language and highly motivated to participate in the project. We expect teachers involved to acquire School-based management skills, to be backed by the appropriate resources to guarantee an excellent school body, to get a European experience and to be able to provide a multi-cultural environment to their students. Priority will be given in acquiring expertise in their fields and to improve the foreign language skills. The main methodology is researching future challenges to design todays education. - Gaining insight and awareness in different aspects of diversity in education. - key complementary competences for future leadership: inspirational leadership in combination with strategic leadership Our goal is to find partners-schools for exchange of ideas on the above mentioned educational problems and compare handling solutions and benefit from good practices. By exchanging teachers, we can observe and learn from the different cultural and educational systems. The job shadowing opportunity will provide new experiences to be applied in our school organization. Furthermore the teachers will be encouraged to look and find the right training course providers abroad, in order to be more included in the project, broaden the knowledge on their specific areas/fields. But also develop their competences on management of school and classroom. Different pedagogical meetings will be organized for the participants and the group of teachers. For the linguistic preparation and the intercultural, the language teachers will be involved and prepare short activities (such as short intensive language course, cultural workshop).. The head master and the directors committee of the school will provide the workshops themselves or invite educational specialists from the universities of Pafos and Cyprus. By the empowerment of individuals as change agents, schools are becoming learning organizations. As a result, the participants will: • Get insights for new didactics and teaching methods • Get motivated by inspiring good practice on new teaching • Get knowledge and skills on implementation and innovation processes -Learn/find out how the partners schools are dealing with problems mentioned above (drop out, inclusion etc) For the school: • Build up awareness of the need of change in connection to educational quality -Create a school European climate for students and teachers • Learn to set up an operation plan For the students: • Expand their understanding of new teaching & learning methods to obtain higher educational quality - Feel belonging to school In a changing world where many cultures are to come together , our students know the concepts and structures that equip them for active and democratic participation in the European Community.
