PROJECT
FINISHED
A total of 43 pupils of a secondary nursing school and students of higher nursing school (hereinafter referred to as pupils) travelled to professional internships in partner organizations in Turkey, Germany and the Slovak Republic during the project "Using Mobility to Expand Competencies and Improve Professional Practice of Students". The participants were students of the third and the fourth year of secondary nursing school and of all three years of higher nursing school.
Secondary school pupils participated in two-week internships in the two partner schools in Turkey and the Slovak Republic, which also prepare their students in the field of a nursing assistant. Pupils of secondary and higher nursing school were sent to the private firm Pflegewerk in Germany, a provider of health and social care, for two weeks and one month.
The aim of the project was to extend and improve vocational, language and other pupils key competences, thereby improving their chances in the European labor market. Thanks to foreign scholarships pupils gained ability to adapt more quickly in the work process and to respond to changes in work conditions. They learned self-reliance, increased self-confidence, gained awareness of professional pride, familiarized themselves with different educational systems, different cultural backgrounds and customs of foreign countries and deepened their knowledge and skills in foreign languages.
Our school acquired a lot of new information through the project that is intended to improve professional practice of nursing professionals and to innovate curricula of vocational education and training. The school is also newly engaged in the use of European tools for evaluating pupils outcomes, ECVET. A great benefit of the project is to establish new contacts and motivate pupils to vocational studies. We will pursue cooperation with the existing partners in the future and establish cooperation with new partners.
Dissemination of the project took place among others through the Internet (zahranicnistaze.webnode.cz) and personal presentations of teachers and pupils.
Our project was innovative and improved the quality of vocational education and training. Our training is able to respond to the changing requirements of the labor market and contributes to the employability of our students. We were inspired by knowledge and skills of partner organizations to improve the quality of theoretical and practical training at our school.
