Mobilitāte - starptautiski atzītas darba pieredzes instruments un nodarbinātības garantija.
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project ensured an opportunity for 8 students of hotel services course (equivalent to 3 level of professional qualification) to practice in Spanish hotels. Erasmus+ program supported mobility lasted for 3 months, within which young people got the opportunity to improve their professional skills and competencies in a real working environment. The practice was implemented during the summer period. It is an active tourist season when the hotels are fully booked, and trainees have the opportunity to provide a real guest service, to use their theoretical knowledge acquired in the learning process in practice. Working in a high level of hospitality enterprises (that is, resort hotels) students have learned internationally recognised hotel standards. They have learned how to perform services in a professional way, ensuring constant quality of operations, as well as improved foreign language skills (English and Spanish). The project helped HOTEL SCHOOL' graduates to improve their competitiveness, because participation in the Erasmus+ mobility program, which is confirmed by the Europass mobility certificate helps to build a successful future career. Tourism and hospitality industry employers highly evaluate graduates who have not only diplomas but also a significant working experience, especially that acquired while working abroad. It is a guarantee that a potential employee will easily integrate into the international environment, which is the characteristic feature of the industry. It is worth mentioning that the project helped young people to develop the personality as a whole, test themselves in different situations and get an adult maturity. After participating in the project substantially increased students' self-esteem, their ability to reflect on their past experience and the results achieved, as each participant had an obligation not only to perform the training tasks, but also take notes about experience gained during the practice, to analyse the differences between Latvia and Spain, each country's work culture and the usual organization of work. These analysis trainees described in their practice reports and presented during the October fair, which was organized in HOTEL SCHOOL. The project ensured an opportunity for 10 HOTEL SCHOOL representatives (VET teachers and administration team members) to visit a leading Chef Academy in Italy located in the city of Terni. Visit lasted for 12 days and included both exchange of experience on educational process organization issues and practical training in Italian cuisine that was held in the form of culinary workshops organised by Chef Academy. As a result, the project participants not only improved their knowledge about teaching methods, but also gained experience and contacts to develop their own educational programs in the field of culinary arts. HOTEL SCHOOL and its partners "Stage and Go" in Spain and "Chef Academy" (Tekna srl) in Italy got valuable experience of international cooperation, all organisations developed their skills in the field of remote control mechanism for the planning and implementing the project.
