FINISHED
To be successful in a globalized world of work and to be in a position to develop properly, well trained skilled workers need to have, beside their expert skills, a fair number of personal skills, too.
With the Erasmus+ project for the mobility of trainees and the educational staff in the field of educational training “Mobil in Europa-Fit für die Zukunft (EuFit)” the Oskar-von-Miller Schule enabled learners of the Dual Vocational Training System to obtain and intensify the above mentioned skills. A total of 65 trainees from the vocational trainings “Electronic technician automation ”, “Electronic technician gadgets and systems”, “ Electronic technician sanitation, heating and climatisation”, “Qualified IT specialist”, “Car mechatronics” and “Doctor`s assistant” got involved in the project.
All the trainees were in the second half of their vocational training (second or third year); most of them were or still are trainees at the Oskar-von-Miller Schule and were or still are trainees at companies in Kassel or the county of Kassel. The participants took part in internships, organized by our partners in Finland (Lappland Vocational College, Rovaniemi LAO), Sweden (Taserudsgymnasiet, Arvika) and Czechia (Skoda Vocational School, Mlada Boleslav). Some of them got directly involved in the training of trainees from the host countries and collaborated in in the execution of project-orientated
tasks.
The project was mainly lead by the persons responsible of Oskar-von-Miller school; the partners organized accommodation and partners for he internship.
Participants could improve their already acquired expert skills during their
Employment in the host countries (use of already existing language knowledge in real-life situations) and built up and improve extensive intercultural competences ( handling and broadening ones view on different cultures).
By participating in the project teachers could improve their opportunities for their professional development; an improved readiness for a professional mobility is to be expected. By means of the project the Oskar-von-Miller school could strengthen the willingness of learners as well as the acceptance of training companies concerning the participation of trainees in European Mobility Products within the framework of the Erasmus+ program. At the same time the school acquired the reputation of an internationally working institution and is considered an expert in the field of Erasmus+.
