The project ???Youth policy in the hands of youth??? aims to improve the environment for self and professional development of the young people from the North central region ??A“ both in terms of awareness of the opportunities of youth programs and the youth proactivity, social entrepreneurship and youth participation in the implementation of policies at local level. The goals will be achieved by the implementation of activities in several phases with a total duration of 4 months. First phase on one hand will include a discussion of youth involvement and activity with those responsible for the creation and implementation of these policies , meetings with representatives of educational institutions, youth political organizations and discussions with representatives of the local and the national authority. On the other hand by conducting a survey among the local youth. This survey will identify their current needs, knowledge of national and European youth programs, the structure of local government, local government strategies and will establish their motivation to participate in the creation and implementation of policies. Second phase will include activities to increase the informational culture of the youth in regard to current opportunities, encouraging partnerships with local authorities and youth participation in solving the problems of the community. During this phase a 5 day national meeting will take place with the participation of 50 youths (16 ??A“ 29 years) form small municipalities located in the North Central Region/Rouse region (Biala, Dve Mogili, Vetovo, Cenovo etc.), representatives of the local government, responsible for youth policy, youth workers, business representatives, national youth organizations and etc. During this forum the most important national and European opportunities concerning young people will be presented. The structured dialogue will be illustrated and debates with responsible for the youth policy and local government representatives will be held. During the third phase of the project real conditions for youth proactivity will be created. Young people themselves will be able to create their own idea aimed at improving the social environment in cooperation with the local authorities and those responsible for youth policies. This will be achieved through innovative approaches which will motivate the participants and guarantee the sustainability of the results. After completion of the national meeting the participants grouped in several groups will be able to implement the outcome of the discussions and the ideas in a particular activity or project. Each group will describe and justify their own project idea and association ???Public Compass??? will provide the materials needed for the idea to be realized. All participants will be co-authors of an analysis of the situation in the municipalities.
