Barrier-free Society and Youth Association plans a training course named “Mixed-ability Training Course for Inclusion of Young People with Disabilities” under Erasmus+ mobility of youth workers on 19-26 March 2016 for youth workers in Ankara, Turkey. We worked together with 7 different kinds of partners in this project from different experiences, and backgrounds. The project brought together 29 youth workers, from 8 different counties which are from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Poland, Romania and Turkey.Young people with disabilities face additional barriers and are affected by discrimination in most areas of the society. It is also not easy for young people with disabilities to enjoy the opportunities offered by European mobility programmes such as Erasmus+ too. Although one out of seven people has some form of disability, participation of young people with disabilities to the program is not reached to this level.The aim of the training course is to train youth workers to think more inclusively and to involve young people with disabilities in activities and projects. Our target group is youth workers who are interested and motivated to work on disability issues. It was a mixed-ability projects where peers with and without a disability have an experience together and learn from each other. The methods of the training course are based on non-formal education. It will be used peer-learning, games, talks, simulations, role plays and other non-formal methods to reach our aim and objectives. At the end of the training course, we hope that participants will think more inclusively and to involve young people with disabilities in their international projects. We believe we will stimulate the participation of young people with disabilities to youth activities and projects with this project and it will be a life-changing experience for our participants.
