School administration of the Upper level secondary college for commercial occupations in Mistelbach is supporting a three-month working stay of eleven students currently attending third After intense preparations the students should have the possibility to do their compulsory internship in a hotel or restaurant in Spain or the Czech Republic. As an internship has to be completed between the third and fourth grade the realisation of this project is required. There are two different key areas of training at our school: cultural tourism and media, and foreign languages where apart from English and Spanish Czech is part of the curriculum. An internship in the labour market of the European Union gives the students an opportunity to improve their language competences and their knowledge in the field of cultural tourism. Students have the chance to get to know specific possibilities of the European working world by an internship abroad. Education to flexibility and mobility is supported. In view of high youth unemployment rate this internship promotes thinking in European dimensions. The receiving institutions confirm the completed internships in the Europass mobility certificates that were previously issued by the Project Manager. We expect from our trainees to take their pre-examination of school leaving examination in the field of service and guest relations in the end of their fourth grade in Spanish, English or Czech. In this way they can get an additional qualification which will be noted in their certificate of school leaving examination.
