MIRANDO A EUROPA +

End date: Dec 30, 2018
PROJECT
FINISHED
CIP FP BATOI has decided to continue and expand the project KA102, called “Mirando a Europa” [Looking at Europe], approved in year 2014 and which finishes this year. Encouraged by the good results, we aim to include more professional families.Students' mobilities encourages mainly to make it easier for them to find a job. That's due to the fact that interning in companies in Ireland and France will improve their professional competence and their use of languages, they will get a greater maturity and autonomy, and last but not least a mind opening. In relation to teachers' mobilities, the objective is for them to acquire new knowledge about techniques, methodology, concepts, management... These will contribute to an improvement in the classroom and, therefore, a better preparation for our students. We will perform three types of activities:The first one is students' mobilities to intern in foreign companies. We apply for a total of 14 vacancies for the school year 2016-17 and 14 vacancies more for the school year 2017-18. The distribution is as follows:* 3 vacancies for students of ICT VET, and 3 for Caregivers VET students, . These students will travel to Boyle in Ireland to carry out their internship in companies for 5 weeks during their formal interning period.* 4 vacancies for students of Hospitality services, both from the Cooking VET degree and the Waitressing VET degree. The internship period will take place in different Irish locations for 8 weeks, once they have obtained their degree.* Finally, we intend to carry on working with France, as it is a country of reference in the hospitality industry. We ask for 4 mobilities for students of the cooking VET degree and the Waitressing VET degree, so that they can intern partially in Angulême.The second mobility is aimed at the teachers. It consists of a period of training of follow-up, form filling, support and tutoring the intern students in a foreign country. The students' stays are divided into three periods per year. That is why we apply for six mobilities for the teachers for their follow-up.The third one consists of teachers' mobilities. We intend to carry out a period of observation work in a Vocational Training College. We apply for 7 job-shadow mobilities for 5 days. They are divided into two different school years in the Vocational Training College of the Finninsh region of Oulu – one mobility for each department at CIPFP Batoi - Health Care, Beauty Care, Professional Training, ICT, Community Services, Administration and Hospitality. In fact, we would like to give it a global impact. We have chosen Ireland as we have a contact there. “Outdor Activity Institute” is a company that manages the project KA 102 “EWE”. Our college has taken part in this consortium since 2014-15. We consider it convenient to start working with an Anglosaxon country as our students learn English at our school as their main foreign language. This will help them acquire a bigger and better cultural integration. Our experience with “Outdor Activity Institute” helps us consolidate our relation and improve the possibilities for our students to find a job. It also helps us open our college internationally and spread the mobilities to our VET departments which have never done any internships abroad. We have been cooperating with Angulême for five years. In fact, we have received students from LTP Saint Joseph L´Amandier to carry out their internships in Beauty Care and Hospitaly companies in our local area.We intend to get mid-long term achievements:On the one hand, the professional sectors to embrace internships in Ireland have a great job demand there (ICT, Health Care and Hospitality). Thus, in Health Care and ICT, the companies in Ireland need to import professionals from India. In hospitality, the Irish companies need to hire professionals from the U.S. as they lack the official formation on gastronomy. This fact increases the probability of getting a job there after their internship. On the other hand, job-shadowing will also contribute positively in management aspects: Changes in lecture planning, departmental planning and quality, internship follow-up, etc.
