The training course MIGRANT TOOLS Social work to promote intercultural dialogue will be held in Gagliole (MC), Italy and will be 7 days long. The participants will be 21 and the country involved are Italy, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, France, Sweden and Belgium. The theme of the project is “minorities and anti-discrimination” and how it can be possible to contribute to the creation of an intercultural society based on tolerance and mutual respect. The aim of the training is to raise awareness on the daily growth of discriminations, xenophobia and racism among and towards young people and to enable them in preventing those actions and in protecting victims. Furthermore the aim is to empower the effectiveness of the work done by active volunteers and youth workers that daily support these youth and to offer them new effective tools to contrast prejudices and to make their work more deep-rooted, effective and enduring on the local backgrounds. The implemented activities will be the following: analysis of prejudices, stereotypes, racist and violent events, presentation of daily experiences; permanent monitoring measures to prevent and struggle against any form of discrimination; the use of new ICT technology and communication to facilitate the monitoring and the data interchange; presentation of working methods: sharing of the tools used by youth workers in their daily experiences and definition of new ones (like blog, social network, websites, ICT platforms and viral campaign). The working methods envisaged are based on the principles of the non formal education which promotes the active learning and the permanent interaction among trainees, trainers and facilitators. The applicant has the hosting role in the project.
