As part of the first Erasmus + project of Robert Arbrissel school, 24 young professional bachelor Services To The People and the Territories have an internship in Romania. The project entitled "Practicing his professional knowledge in social structures and medico-social in Romania" aimed to discover new professional practices and a new cultural environment.
The project took place over 24 months, with a first trip of 10 final-year students in September 2014 and a second stream in June 2015 to 14 other students. They performed their internships being distributed in groups of 3 or 4 in the nursing home (nursing home) in two homes for disabled people (adults and children). After a common observation time at all stages, the young could perform tasks and activities with different public (reception, animation, care, support visits, meal preparation, coaching ...). Throughout the courses, students were able to develop relationships with their Romanian peers, but also with the staff of training structures. Staying with a host family has fostered better integration of young people with their new environment.
This mobility project allowed students to develop their professional practice, by the discovery of new ways of organizing and operating outside of France. This trip allowed them to become aware of the importance of foreign languages and the need to work more English to open more opportunities for professional integration in the future.
Spending time in a foreign country, allowed young people to develop their sense of responsibility, autonomy and communication. They managed to adapt to different situations, making them aware of their abilities, with the main impact: a gain confidence in themselves.
For accompanying teachers, mobility enabled them to create a different relationship with young people, and discover in another setting.
This project allowed Robert Arbrissel school to strengthen partnerships with the Romanian professional structures, with the intermediate body and with the Internship structures in France that welcomed in turn the Romanian pupils thereafter. Meanwhile, it has fostered a multidisciplinary team within the school to contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the Erasmus Programme project.
