Our school has given English a special place in our curriculum. We want to give our students a good base of English, so they are well prepared to use English at secondary school and also in social life. We stimulate our student to continu school at a bilingual secondary school. To reach these goals our teachers have to got great teacherskills to educate English in our school.
To take care of a high level from all of our teachers and to bring English to the next level in our organisation, we want to integrate content and language integrated learning. The activity at the Pilgrims institute will teach our teachers the skills to integrate CLIL in there lessons. By following this course in Canterbury, the teachers also train there own English skills very intensive. This will lead to more self-confidence by using and teaching English. The course, Methodology & Language for Primary Teachers, will be followed by the complete team of teachers (8), witch we can divine in two groups. The first group already followed a course and has more experiance by teaching English, they have to make te next step to CLIL. The other group contains teachers who have less experience but also teach English, and there goal will be to train the main skills of teaching English and the use of classroom English. The results of this activity will be more lessons witch contains English in our curriculum, The level of English will raise, The teachers will be more self-confedente and the students will be even more prepared for secondary school and social life. The long term benefit will be more students who are capable of following a bilingual secondary school and improve there possibilities in social life and there future carrier. By improving our English education, we will ask for the next level of the qualitylabel "Talent". We will publish our policy and results to reach more students in our schoolarea, so they can also choose for this kind of education.
