Metaframework for Logistics

In a number of previous projects (Central, Eucolog, Prolog,Novalog, Eurotranslog, ProfDRV), the connection between vocational qualifications and relevant transparency instruments has been examined. The METALOG project has analysed these previous results and summarized them systematically (see Products "Synthesis Report"). Based on these results, work process analyses have been conducted in logistics companies in the process of which human resource (HR) personnel and relevant employees in the sector have been interviewed with a view to better understanding the gap between the requirements of organisations and the actual competences of employees. The results of these WPA were summarised and discussed at the project meeting in Salzburg (January 2015). Based on the results of both the synthesis of previous projects and the work process analyses, a Logistics Qualifications Framework were drafted by ITB. To ensure sustainability of the results, logistics and HR personnel, training organisations and industry associations, etc. have to be brought together into a Logistics Skills Network. This network will deal with the continuously changing requirements in the workplace and thereby be in a position to identify new requirements and to provide relevant training in a timely manner.Logistics has always been an internationalized sector. The work of such a network will therefore contribute to mobility in Europe strengthening the position of the firms in the sector as the increasing the quality of the work performed.
