MENTOR-C will develop an electronic, interactive training course in Corrosion Engineering for use by existing employees and those considering future employment within this sector. The project will consider the 'anywhere anytime learning' concept to enable users to undergo self-learning but will further allow users to consult with a tutor by introducing an 'innovative course administrator / tutor' component to the tool.The project is a joint effort between ICT and corrosion technology training providers and includes the two European Professional organisations in the field of corrosion and corrosion protection, thus assuring impact of the project results upon the Corrosion Engineering industry.The course itself is to be multi-level (elementary introductory to highly advanced), multi-lingual (all partner languages) and multi-functional (serving various specialist sub-disciplines of the corrosion or corrosion protection field and useful for various types/levels of qualification outputs i.e. inspectors, installers, engineers).Beyond development of the course, the partnership will prepare an initial draft proposal for certification and pan-European recognition of the training course developed.
