The MELIOR project tackled the lack of a European tool for measuring quality standards in the selection of training providers. The project was based upon a tool developed in the project Double evolution in the year 2001; since that date the technology available as well as the research made in the field of quality in education and the publication of the CQAF, (Common Quality Assurance Framework), have changed the usability and real application of the DOUBLE EVOLUTION tool. The MELIOR project meant to take the Double Evolution tool as a starting point for building a comprehensive system for analysis of quality in training in order to help training contractors, trainers, trainees, guidance professionals, and similar in the selection of a quality training offer adapted to their profiles and needs. The main project aim was the development of an on-line guide for the selection and evaluation of training providers based upon quality indicators; the analysis and research of previous projects on quality in training have helped to set and design practical tools for quality control in training in public or private training centres. The target group being mainly companies and training “contractors” can be enlarged to students and individuals in search of training offer adapted to their needs as well as helpful tool in the hands of guidance professionals and consultants in training.
