International Youth Exchange "BORDERS" started on 2nd July and finished on 9th July 2007 in Bistrica ob Sotli (Slovenia). With activities such as discussion workshops, creativity workshops and excursion the exchange promotedknowledge exchange among young participants and offered space for their critical thinking about socially constructed borders, as those borders discriminate (ethnically, politically, economically, linguistically and by gender different individuals, groups or societies), but on the other hand enable society and produce powers for creativity. It was not by chance that the hosting village was Bistrica ob Sotli which lies on Slovenian national border with Croatia and actually on the border of European Union. Residence of exchange was then a border itself as much as those borders youth needs to cross and respect to feel that their voices can be heard and acknowledged in society. The youth exchange was attended by 6 youth leaders and 34 participants from Finland (8), Turkey (6), Estonia (6), Italy (5) and Slovenia (9).The project was given 18.489 EUR European Communities grant.
