Conscious of the need for vocational counsellors to address the range of lifelong requirements for guidance and counselling, the project will develop and promote a new, post-graduate, modular and accelerated curriculum for professional practitioners.After analysing the functions assigned to lifelong vocational counsellors within the partner countries, as well as in current training provision, a common Occupational Standard or Job Profile will be created to record competence categories. This will form the basis of joint development and testing of a toolkit to deliver the new Modular Curriculum. Finally, the project experience will be distilled into a series of recommendations, relevant to policy makers, capable of influencing education & employment systems for vocational counsellors.The project will further capitalise on the decentralised nature of the partner organisations to establish a web-based transnational network of lifelong vocational counsellors, also involving educators, potential employers and relevant policy-makers. A broad dissemination strategy at national and European level will include development of project websites, production of project publications and attendance at relevant exhibitions and conferences.
