This project addresses the lack of training in the use of ICT tools among teachers of pre-school children. Pedagogical development in this area has been almost non-existent. Media-Guide aims to develop new and flexible training modules and teaching material for pre-school and day care teachers through the provision of practical vocational training modules and materials. The training being developed by this project differs from traditional vocational training in ICT as it is not primarily about technical PC use. The expected results will motivate teachers to regard ICT as an important part of children's daily life and socialisation and enable them to guide the children in a direction where they can use ICT in a constructive/creative and knowledge-developing way - not just as an entertainment. The resulting manuals and training materials comprising guidelines and descriptions of the development and introduction of multimedia in teaching methods will be disseminated during the course of the project to local, regional and national authorities within education and labour market organisations.
