PROJECT
FINISHED
Curt Nicolin Gymnasiet has since three years collaborated with two upper secondary schools in Macedonia ; Jovcevski Korcagin and Kiro Spandgov - Brko . This project intends to develop and strengthen this cooperation, it also includes a newly launched partnership with Wabtec , a manufacturing industry which produces braking systems.
The purpose of the project is to offer internships to our students and developing human resources to promote school improvement in all schools involved in the project . The goals we aim to achieve are to
• Promote cultural awareness
• Improve key competences and skills
• Promote quality improvement in VET
• Improve language teaching and learning.
The project is intended to last for 12 months and includes internship for 20 pupils and participation in joint training at the vocational school Kiro Spandgov - Brko and internship for 20 pupils at the company Wabtec . The project also involves 10 teachers' participation in school development projects and auscultation at Jovcevski Korcagin and Kiro Spandgov - Brko . The participating educators are teachers in mathematics , languages and Industrial engineering as we see that there is a great need for developing didactic skills in these subjects.
Upon completion of the project , participating partners will have achieved the following
• Increased awareness and understanding of our globalized world
• Increased ability to co-operate with people with diversed cultural identity
• Solidarity
• Increased employability
• Increased key competences
• Increased knowledge of didactic methods
• Increased knowledge of languages
• Increased knowledge of sustainable development
The UN has in its Millennium Declaration focused on the work of global sustainable development in an economic, a social and an environmental perspective. The education sector has a great responsibility to spread awareness of sustainable development not only in school but in a broader perspective. The joint projects within the educational exchanges will strengthen the links between school and working life sothat this dissemination becomes real. A collaboration between school and work also contributes to promoting and strengthening the knowledge of innovation and entrepreneurship. One of our intended projects includes solar panels as an alternative to the current heating of domestic homes.
As a part of the students assignment in this project they have to share their experiences and observations during their stay abroad. This is done through seminars and lectures in our own organization but also in schools and other businesses in the municipality. As a result of this proliferation a global awareness and solidarity is mediated , it also provides information on each individual's ability to participate in an exchange program that pushes the individual's own boundaries and creates a solid foundation for the future.
