“MAIS BAIRRO: Mobility, Art, Interculturalism and Social Media” is a KA 1: Erasmus +: European Voluntary Service.The project will involve 4 young volunteers, motivated, enthusiastic, creative, eager to learn and teach, share knowledge and participate actively in our present and future projects and activities, between 18 and 30 years old, from Spain, Italy and France and it will take place in Lisbon - Portugal, for EVS periods between 6 and 12 months starting at September 1, 2016.This project was born under the shared desire and goal from 2 local partner associations(Clube Intercultural Europeu and Associação Lusofonia, Cultura e Cidadania- ALCC) to bring European mobility, Erasmus + opportunities, intercultural learning and the development of innovative, artistic and creative practices to 2 priority intervention neighborhoods of Lisbon –Olaias and Ameixoeira.The project will take place in two locations: CLUBE’s office in Olaias and ALCC´s office in Ameixoeira, two priority intervention neighborhoods in Lisbon, with high rate of social and economic vulnerability and with a high number of immigrant and Roma families. This project will provide a learning and training opportunity to volunteers promoting their autonomy and self-esteem, developing their soft skills, implementing their learning, competences and capabilities, fostering intercultural learning and exchanges, encouraging their multilingualism and open mind, promoting the recognition and validation of skills and qualifications and promoting their active citizenship and employability though development of innovative practices and activities for the benefit of local communities and disadvantaged groups.At local level, our aim is to influence more for the local development of the hosting organizations approximating these Erasmus+ projects, the intercultural learning and EVS volunteers from other realities, habits and cultures to social neighborhoods and more closed realities, being the volunteers an example for other young people locally to lose the fear to the unknown, to open their mind, to promote the respect for differences and intercultural learning and to motivate them to participate in such actions (Erasmus + opportunities).These volunteers will also gives us the opportunity to promote the exchange and development of good/innovative practices and strategies about Mobility, Art, Interculturalism and Social Media, different ways and points of view, knowledge and - know how- from 3 countries with significant careers in these topics and actively participating and being part along a year of our team, our objectives and helping overcome problems and weaknesses but also enjoying the achievements, the spirit of mutual help and the gratitude of our local communities.MAIS BAIRRO will develop 4EVS long term activities using working methods as: cultural and artistic events; intercultural learning and artistic workshops and activities; Visits and trips; Edition and co-edition of multimedia material; European/intercultural events; pedagogical and creative workshops; intercultural and intergenerational activities; Erasmus+ promotion; citizenship and community development activities and events.In terms of learning opportunities, MAIS BAIRRO activities can offer a permanent coaching for the volunteers and practical occasions to learn and discover all these topics: Developing methods of active education and tools; Developing team work skills; Learning about environment and local communities, local habits, social neighborhoods; Being supported through an intercultural learning process; Developing creativity by participating in and organizing artistic and cultural activities and events; Developing critical thinking towards cultural and community events; Co-leading small groups; Developing logistical skills; Developing skills in multimedia production; Improving the skills in workshop leading; Developing competences in the field of youth participation; Developing artistic and intercultural skills; Sharing their experiences and promoting intercultural exchanges.Through this EVS project we want to promote the interaction between the EVS volunteers and the local people, exploring the wishes, expectations, skills and potentials of all the participants. MAIS BAIRRO will be the occasion for EVS volunteers to eventually plan and develop their own activities and proposals with the support of CLUBE´s and ALCC´s teams.The expected impact and benefits will be the development of innovative and better practices and strategies at local level; development and dissemination of artistic and cultural potential in social neighborhoods; more knowledge and dissemination about Erasmus+ programme and opportunities and the motivation of local youngsters to participate in such actions; the promotion of intercultural learning and exchanges; the dissemination and valorization of different cultures, identities and the promotion of more inclusive opportunities through Erasmus+ programme.
