PROJECT
FINISHED
The main goal for the project „Learn in Nature” was to enhance Childrens Environmental School (CES) summer camp teams work for children and youth by learning interactive outdoor teaching methods about nature and environment. To accomplish it, a study visit from 2nd untill 9th of may 2015 for CES in Field Studies Councils field centre Castle Head near city Grange-Over-Sands (United Kingdom) was realized, where organisation Field Studies Council (FSC) is using such methods with a long-lasting experience. In the study visit FSC members gave a programme made from their acreditted teaching methods for children adapted for youth workers, and CES shared their summer camp teaching experience with FSC members. Before the study visit there was three preparatory meeting-semminars for CES members to give an organisational information (19.02.), a view into the themes anticipated in study visit (23.03.), and shared duties (20.04.) before and during the study visit. After the study visit overview semminar (29.05.) took place for the other CES members who did not attend the study visit. In final an open semminar (11.06.) was held outdoors in which some of the obtained active teaching methods were shared during a hike by the seaside.
