PROJECT
FINISHED
We want to enable 21 pupils in final year preparing a vocational high school diploma in commerce, sale and management and administration to go on a vocational training course abroad. The plan is spread out over 4 weeks. Thanks to this training course, they will put into practice what they have learnt at school and improve their professional skills. They will enrich their command of English, become more self-sufficient and will get used to adapting themselves to any situation. It is also a good way to develop self confidence, which is essential for professional and personal success. The stay will be divided like this : one week for the linguistic and cultural preparation in order to enable the pupils to integrate in their new environment and learn more about the culture of the country, and 3 weeks for the vocational training course. This professional experience in foreign language is a plus for our young pupils and the Europass will help them to position themselves on the labour market which becomes more and more demanding. In the Caribbean environment , speaking English fluently is really a plus.If our pupils speak English it will be easier for them to apply for a job in Europe, the Caribbean islands or the United States, as a lot of young people are unemployed in Martinique (1 out of 3).The vocational course abroad will also help them to pass their vocational high school diploma and enable them to get additional points with the new test called optional mobility test.
