This eleven months project was implemented by Volunteers’ Center Zagreb as receiving organisation and Hnutí Brontosaurus and Legambiente Toscana Onlus, as sending organizations, involving two Czech (the second one was a replacement participant) and one Italian volunteer. It took place in Zagreb and in different local communities in Croatia where international workcamps were organised in cooperation with local partner organisations. Through international workcamps, as unique platform for youth inclusion, intercultural understanding and community building, as well as local voluntary activities and promotional activities, the project aim to promote volunteering and make people aware of the importance of active citizenship in our society was accomplished. Volunteers took part in the organization, implementation and evaluation of the workcamp season and in the education and promotion support activities intended to ensure the high quality of volunteer programmes. In Zagreb, through several personal project that they independently developed volunteers were involved in the different local voluntary activities (such as voluntary actions with kids, youth, disabled and refugees). Moreover volunteers were involved in the campaign for the International Day of Peace, celebration of the International Volunteers' Day and organisation of our yearly Volunteers Oscar Award. The project gave to our volunteers an opportunity to learn and work in a diverse and stimulating environment, get to know the challenges of Croatian reality and aid in the enhancement of solidarity in our society, particularly among youth.
